Distilled in late 2008 with two-thirds of the distillate made in a double-copper column still with plates removed(this creates a lower distillation proof. The additional third was created with an alembic pot still by legendary Master Distiller and Tequilero Enrique Fonseca
Blend of 30% distilled volume aged in American white oak barrels previously used for California red wine / 70% distilled volume aged in dark French oak barrels
The barrels were laid to rest for 11 years in a very cool and dry environment of a subterranean barrel room with the upper-most portion of the room opened to allow for soft air circulation.

Produced from highland agave harvested in Atotonilco in the Spring of 1998 - the Fuenteseca 1998 Reserva 15 Year Extra Anejo Tequila is an exceptionally memorable release from this distinct tequila brand. Featuring a maturation period of 15 years on a dry, earthen floor in a traditional aging room - this superb sipper rested in a portion of American white oak and 3% French oak barrels. Of the American oak barrels, 75% previously held bourbon, 25% housed California red wine, and a singular selection housed Chardonnay. Double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills and bottled at 43% ABV (86-proof) - Fuenteseca 1998 Reserva 15 offers an aroma of cracked pepper, oak, crushed pine, agave, and caramel. The palate is rife with sweet fruits, vanilla, citrus, and chocolate. Layered and satisfying from nose to sip, this superior aged tequila is one you'll enjoy time and time again!

Often described as the world's first "Grand Cru" Tequila, Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca created this product with the goal of producing the world's oldest aged tequila.  These agave were harvested in 1993, and barreled in February of 1994.
It is produced exclusively in copper-pot stills, but the barrel-aging technique is often the most talked about part of the process.
- Most of the spirit was rested in barrels that once aged Canadian rye whiskey, although one barrel used previously held white wine from California.
 - The casks were stored for 10 years in a dry, earthen-floor aging room in the town of Atotonilco el Alto, before being designated as worthy of a longer aging, and moved to a higher, cooler climate of Chapingo, Jalisco, which sits on the slope above Atotonilco el Alto.
 - The barrels rested in Chapingo for an entire additional 11 years before finally being bottled in 2014.
