RDV Vineyards stands at the intersection of Old World inspiration and New World terroir, producing Bordeaux-style red blends from the granite-rich slopes of Delaplane, Virginia. Founded by Rutger de Vink, RDV was born from the belief that the United States could produce wines with the structure, elegance, and longevity of a First Growth estate.

Set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, RDV is a study in precision—hand-farmed, meticulously vinified, and aged with exacting standards. The wines are powerful yet refined, showing a sense of place that reflects the vineyard’s rocky soil, cool elevation, and thoughtful stewardship.

Estate-Focused, Elegantly Structured

RDV’s vineyard is one of the few sites on the East Coast with granite bedrock and steep, well-draining slopes—ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varieties. The vineyard’s small scale allows for block-by-block harvesting and individualized winemaking, preserving nuance and character in every lot.

Two cuvées anchor the estate’s portfolio:

• Lost Mountain – The flagship wine. A Cabernet Sauvignon–driven blend aged extensively before release. Bold and structured with notes of cassis, graphite, violets, and spice. Built to evolve over time.
• Rendezvous – A more Merlot-forward blend, plush and layered, offering dark cherry, cocoa, and a rounded finish. While more approachable in its youth, it still carries the house’s signature depth and poise.

Both are aged exclusively in French oak and released only when the wines are deemed ready—a hallmark of RDV’s commitment to quality over volume.
