Bottled in an ornate decanter, the fall edition denotes a black label, consistent across all fall releases. As was the case for the past editions, this edition’s tax strip, which has always been a signature of transparency on bottled-in-bond products, will disclose when the liquid was produced and bottled. The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond fall edition will be available in the 750ml size on an allocated basis. It meets the strict requirements of a bottled-in-bond: the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged a minimum of four years, and bottled at 100 proof or 50% alcohol by volume. 

The Fall 2022 edition of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the first 19-year-old of the nationally released series and features Bourbon pulled from across three floors of rickhouse F and one floor of rickhouse X at Heaven Hill Distillery’s main campus. For this, our eleventh utterance of the mantra, WhistlePig's whiskey makers journey to Rajasthan, India - the Land of Kings - in search of precious spices to forge the world’s first Thandai barrel aged Rye. An alluring elixir served in celebration of victory and creation, Thandai joins the shakti of Straight Rye Whiskey with a floral meditation of saffron, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg, further enlivened by fennel, poppy and black peppercorn. The result is a splendid wellspring of strength and majesty; a saga befitting the maharajah of Rye.

A world renowned Japanese blend, Hibiki 17 Year Old is made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's distilleries. Initially released in 1989, the blend is matured in Japanese mizunara oak casks at Yamazaki. Hibiki means harmony, which has certainly been achieved in this wonderful and iconic blend.

Each year, Old Forester releases a limited edition Birthday Bourbon to commemorate the birthday of George Garvin Brown on September 2nd. These releases are known for their unique character, which varies from year to year based on the selection of barrels and the conditions under which they were aged.

THE RESULT IS A MEZCAL THAT IS AS DELICATE AS IT IS SPICY, WITH A DEEP CITRUS AND GREEN APPLE NOSE THAT GIVES WAY TO SOFT HERBAL NOTES WITH A DELICATE SMOKINESS THAT LINGERS ON THE TONGUE. THE HAND-BLOWN GLASS BOTTLE FEATURES A RICH BLACK FINISH INSPIRED BY OAXACA'S CENTURIES-OLD BARRO NEGRO POTTERY-MAKING TRADITION. THE BOTTLE WAS DESIGNED BY TESLA’S DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DESIGN, JAVIER VERDURA, IN HONOR OF HIS MEXICAN ROOTS AND EARLY LIFE GROWING UP IN MEXICO CITY. THE DESIGN IS EMBLEMATIC OF MEXICO'S OAXACAN CULTURE, FEATURING A UNIQUE HAND-MOLDED FORM THAT HONORS INGENUITY, FAMILY VALUES AND A LOVE OF FOOD.

TASTING NOTES: FLORAL, DELICATE AND SPICY WITH EARTHY AROMAS AND HINTS OF LIME, GREEN APPLE AND SPICE FOLLOWED BY SMOKY NOTES. FINISHES WITH SOFT TUBEROSE, JASMINE AND CHAMOMILE. MOUTHFEEL IS BALANCED, YET STRONG WITH LIGHT BITTER NOTES AT THE END.

The bourbon was aged seven to eight years in the upper floors of Rickhouse Q, then finished for four months in barrels that previously held French Orange Curaçao liqueur. This is the second barrel-finished bourbon in the collection, following in the steps of the 5th Edition Cognac finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Traditional bourbon notes of vanilla and caramel upfront that are quickly washed over with a wave of orange soda, candied fruits, and mild barrel char. A flash of orange marmalade, orange sponge candy, slight bitterness, and sugary alcoholic bite instantly reminds me of Grand Marnier. Seasoned oak and hearty vanilla notes roll in, bumping out the majority of the Orange Curaçao barrel finish.Seasoned oak and vanilla notes carry over into the finish and dominate. Sugary orange notes weave throughout, but struggle to really pop.

MASH BILL: 75% Corn, 20% Wheat, 5% Malted Barley. Buttery, Tobacco, Apricot, Oak on the nose. Vanilla & Caramel, Buttery Oak, Black Pepper on the palate with moderately long finish that is dry, spicy and oak forward.

Bottled in 2014, Lost Prophet is the second release of the rare vintages of Diageo's Orphan Barrel Series, a series of bottles that came from barrels that were abandoned or forgotten at rickhouses and distilleries. Lost Prophet speaks softly but carries a big stick. Eloquent and gentle, this Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was unearthed after spending 22 long years resting in charred American white oak barrels, tucked away in a corner of the historic Stitzel-Weller rickhouses in Shively, Kentucky. Lost Prophet is a soft spoken whiskey, with aromas of honey, apricot, and clove that reveal a silky, full-bodied taste with notes of spiced vanilla and a touch of leather, culminating in a sweet smoky finish. This is one of the rarest Orphan Barrels, as it was released in 2014 for that year only and is no longer produced.
