TASTING NOTES

The highly anticipated 2018 edition of Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon is comprised of 182 barrels. Dubbed "piggy bank barrels" by master distiller Dennis Todd for their choice characteristics, they were matured for approximately five years and then dumped at the end of 2017 to rest and marry together. The result is an approximately 134-proof cask strength release with a total batch size of 4,725 bottles.

G4 Clásico Reposado Tequila is a meticulously rested tequila aged for 6 months uniquely split aged: half in single?use American oak whiskey barrels, half in single?use sherry wine casks, preserving the bold essence of agave while introducing warm, mellowed oak character. Made at the famed El Pandillo distillery by Felipe Camarena, this reposado is complex yet approachable - an exceptional balance of tradition and innovation.

The 2024 De Madera Reposado opens with a bouquet that's at once familiar and surprising — notes of roasted agave intertwine with beguiling hints of pine (a reminder of the wooden tanks used in the fermentation process). On the palate, it's a masterful balancing act: on the one hand, the bright vibrancy of highland agave, and on the other, the mellow warmth imparted by the 7 months’ spent in whiskey barrels. The addition of the 7-year Extra Anejo introduces layers upon layers of complexity that unfold slowly on the palate. This is a tequila to spend time with — a tequila that demands to be sipped patiently, and reverently.

The 2014 Four Roses Single Barrel Limited Edition Barrel Strength Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a rare gem for bourbon connoisseurs. This barrel strength release showcases a meticulously crafted flavor profile with rich notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and ripe cherry, followed by a long, smooth finish. Each sip reveals the depth and complexity that only a single barrel can offer.

Buffalo Trace Distillery has recreated his traditional sour mash and produced a limited edition, one-time offering of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey for a true bourbon aficionado. A few years prior a gathering of Distillery retirees, a method was recounted for making "Old Fashioned Sour Mash whiskey. Edmund Hayes Taylor Jr. (EHTaylor) was known to use this technique in the late 1800's. Taylor's technique involved allowing the mash to sour naturally for days before distillation. Distilled in 2002, and bottled in 2012, this bourbon is a modern replication of this old-fashioned method. Using Taylor's original sourcing process, the result is a bourbon fo character and body like none other today. The combination of a rare estimated 10 year aging, winning the 2012 Gold Medal as one of the fifty best bourbons, and the extremely rare limited release make this bottle nearly impossible to find.
