Although many variants were released under the Hirsch label —15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20yr-olds—the 15yr gold wax "script" variant is sought after because of its Lawrenceburg bottling location, Japanese export status and overall rarity.
The Hirsch distillate was copper pot distilled in 1974 by Pennco and is believed to have yielded a 400-barrel batch. Many of the early releases of A.H. Hirsch appeared in small batches, which Julian Van Winkle III bottled on an almost order-by-order basis. There was little consistency in label design, and as a result, there is great variety among the early bottlings. This bottle is a case in point: Though it is the same age as the previous Hirsch releases, its label shows the Hirsch name in a stylized cursive script – a small difference that nevertheless makes this bottle a prized possession.

Aged twelve years at Buffalo Trace Distillery, this bourbon is rich and sweet, drawing its character from barrels made of French Oak. An oak that has long been used for aging the world’s finest wine, the tighter grain of French Oak impart more subtle flavors and a silkier texture than its American counterpart. Harvested from the forests of France, the oak barrels that aged this unique bourbon whiskey are honored with each sip. So enjoy this tribute to the French Oak and raise a glass to its storied journey from the forest, to the barrel, to bourbon.
The last year of the wax top 23's, this was a split bottling year with some being bottled using the gold foil. These particular expressions of the van winkle line up contained whiskey distilled prior to Buffalo Trace at the Old Fitzgerald distillery which was producing the famous stitzel-weller distillate used for this bottle.

Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Eagle Rare 17 - Spring 2016
Spring 2016
This rare bourbon ages in oak barrels for nearly two decades and is only available in small quantities once a year, every fall. Sip this polished, well-aged whiskey to appreciate why patience is such a virtue. The fragrant aroma has almost a wine-like character with hints of almond, cigar boxes and cinnamon. The delicate and dry mid-palate tastes of leather, vanilla and tobacco. This bourbon lingers, finishing with hint of leather and toffee.

This is the fourth edition of William Heavenhill, and was distilled at Bernheim and bottled at cask strength 15 years later in Bardstown in a one-time run.
Bernheim is a historic Kentucky distillery. It was established by the Bernheim Brothers in the late 19th century, before passing into the hands of the Schenley company following the repeal of Prohibition. When Schenley were bought over by United Distillers in 1987, the distillery was rebuilt as the new owners looked to consolidate their production to a single facility. When United Distillers became Diageo in 1997, the new parent company were interested in bourbon, and sold the distillery to Heaven Hill. Heaven Hill were established in 1935, but their long-serving Bardstown distillery was lost in a devastating fire in 1996. Homeless for three years, the company acquired Bernheim in 1999, and have produced all of their whiskey there ever since.

The newest addition to our family of American Whiskeys. Heigold is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey made with a high percentage of rye. It lures you in with a beautiful aroma of toasted malt and warm baking spices. On the pallet, Heigold opens with silky butterscotch and hints of bright citrus finishing with a thrilling crescendo of pepper spice. While great neat or on the rocks, a high proof of 95 allows Heigold’s bold flavors to shine in any cocktail.
Toasted & Charred Barrels: Developing our super-premium whiskey takes time. We slowly toast our barrels over a wood-fired flame before charring, a process that takes up to 20 minutes per barrel. Toasting coaxes sugars from deep in the fibers of the wood which mingle with the distillate during the aging process, giving our whiskeys unparalleled complexity and flavor.
Strong and Bold. The uniqueness of this Bourbon starts with mash consisting of corn, malted German rye, and malted barley. Once distilled, we proof the new make down to 110 before barreling. This produces a rich, decadent bourbon void of harsh flavors or burn. We mature the distillate for 4 years in toasted and charred American White Oak barrels crafted by Kelvin Cooperage. The process of toasting before charring is a modern approach to barrel making, allowing deeper whiskey absorption into the barrel which gives this bourbon its deep flavor and caramel color.
Made with a high percentage of imported German rye. Named after a German immigrant stonecutter from the 1800s, Rabbit Hole Heigold Bourbon is inspired by the adventures, innovators, and creators who built the foundation of the country we love. We start with a unique mash bill of corn, malted German rye, and malted barley to give this bourbon a base of southern sweetness layered with light notes of white pepper. It is then barreled in charred American White Oak and mellowed in the sweltering summers and frigid winters of Kentucky for over 4 years. Infusing flavors of butterscotch and baking spices, our selective aging process allows for Heigold to mature into a deep caramel hue - a signature of our brand. To be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail, our Heigold Bourbon is the distilled essence of the American dream — demanding your attention with each sip.

MASTER DISTILLER NOTES
Booker’s Batch 2019-04 “Beaten Biscuits” was produced on a single date and stored in two warehouses in three locations. The breakdown of barrel storage is as follows:
47% came from the 6th floor of 9-story warehouse H
11% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse P
42% came from the 5th floor of 7-story warehouse P
The batch has a deep chestnut color that is elegant, like all batches of Booker’s. The nose has hints of the oak barrel coming through the sweetness, much like the scent of caramel icing for a cake. The finish is medium and very flavorful. I know my Dad would say this is a tasty batch to enjoy with his country ham and prized Beaten Biscuits.
COLOR
Our darkest and deepest amber and henna color.
TASTE
Deep and complex flavors of vanilla, nuts and oak.
AROMA
Robust vanilla and caramel notes; slightly smoky.
FINISH
Long and full; perfect for easygoing sipping.
Another special release of barrel strength small batch product from the famous Jim Beam distilleries in Clermont and Boston, Kentucky. Booker's was originally conceived by Booker Noe, Jim Beam's Grandson, and originally released in 1988. At the time it was one of the few cask strength bourbons available and quickly became renowned by bourbon connoisseurs and collectors for its incredible depth and power.
It continues to be Jim Beam's most well loved regular offering and we are happy to offer it at one of the most competitive prices in the country. Each batch is individually numbered and contains whisky hand selected by master distiller Fred Noe.
Booker’s "Granny’s Batch" Batch No. 2020-01 is aged for 6 years, 6 months, and 19 days and bottled at 126.1 Proof.
