Weller is made with wheat instead of rye in the mash bill, giving the bourbon its signature sweet, gentle and smooth character. A long maturation in new oak casks brings complex flavors of vanilla, oak and cinnamon. Weller 12 Years Old Year Of The Snake is presented in a special tube with a gorgeous snake design.

As part of the wheated bourbon family, this twelve year old W.L. Weller is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons. This offering is a smooth, easy-going and balanced bourbon with a beautiful deep bronze color.

This release marks the first-ever Very Olde St. Nick private label collaboration, bottled for the first time outside Preservation Distillery in its iconic 375ml format and presented at full cask strength. The whiskey is a custom blend of Stitzel-Weller distilled 17- and 21-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon preserved for decades in stainless steel tanks—liquid from a legendary distillery that no longer exists.

Curated under the stewardship of Marci Palatella, Founder of Preservation Distillery and one of the most influential figures in modern American whiskey, this release represents a convergence of history, rarity, and uncompromising quality.

Experience Notes:

Nose: Deep and immediately expressive, opening with antique leather, polished oak, and old library books. Waves of dark caramel, molasses, and toffee follow, layered with dried fig, black cherry, and pipe tobacco. Subtle notes of baking spice, clove oil, and dusty rickhouse oak underscore the whiskey’s age and provenance.

Palate: Silky and full-bodied, showcasing the unmistakable Stitzel-Weller mouthfeel. Rich caramel and brûléed sugar lead, followed by cocoa powder, roasted pecan, and dark honey. The mid-palate reveals seasoned oak, dried apricot, and a gentle herbal note, all perfectly integrated despite the cask-strength presentation.

Finish: Long, warm, and contemplative. Leather, old oak, and sweet tobacco linger alongside dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and a final echo of spice. The finish fades slowly, leaving a refined sweetness and a sense of depth that only extended aging can provide

Weller 18 Year Old, the brand’s first wheat whiskey and oldest age-stated expression, is exclusive to travel retail. Bottled at 90 proof and aged 18 years, it’s available only at select international airport duty-free shops and The Bourbon Concierge!

Featuring the iconic gold foil neck wrap, a design cue historically reserved for the most prestigious "dusty" bottles produced at the old Stitzel-Weller distillery this 2025 release is as much a centerpiece for your display as it is a world-class sipper.

Tasting Notes: The Gold Standard Profile

  Palate: Remarkable creaminess on the tongue. Expect flavors of caramel apple, vanilla bean, and a delicate honeyed sweetness that only a 10-year-plus aging cycle (relative to standard batches) can provide.

• Finish: Exceptionally clean and calm. It leaves a lingering sweetness with a "burnt orange" citrus zest that defines the 2025 harvest.

As part of the wheated bourbon family, this twelve year old W.L. Weller is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons. This offering is a smooth, easy-going and balanced offering with a beautiful deep bronze color. Aromas of lanolin, almond, creamed corn and toasty vanilla. The mid-palate flavor is heavily wheated, layered and moderately sweet. Long, oaky, and intensely smooth finish.  These gold foil versions are likely going to be a standard for domestic releases soon, however currently the gold foils are being tested in european 700ml sized releases.

One of the last years that Pappy Van Winkle 23 was bottled using Stitzel-Weller juice before Buffalo Trace began using its own barrels for producing Pappy Van Winkle.
