THIS EXCEPTIONALLY AGED KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEY adds a new chapter to the partnership between The Last Drop and Buffalo Trace Distillery. A unique — and uniquely delicious — whiskey created by a distinguished duo of experts, from the marriage of three carefully selected barrels, this bourbon represents time-honoured craftsmanship at its best.

Master Blender Drew Mayville and Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley selected and married together three of the oldest barrels lying at Buffalo Trace Distillery — distilled in 1995, 1996, and 1997 — to create a whiskey that retains a delightful vibrancy while showcasing the depth and character that come from decades of careful ageing. Layers of complexity reveal themselves in the tasting, with notes of vanilla, oak tannins, rich caramel, and leather all harmoniously interwoven in a spirit that pushes the boundaries of bourbon beyond all expectations.

National Distillers is one of the most sought after "vintage" producers. Known for it's beautiful flavors of baking spices, fresh cookies and cake. The Bond and Lillard brand has existed since the late 1860s and was added to the portfolio of National Distillers from just after prohibition until the distillery closed, however the brand has recently been revived and is reportedly produced at Wild Turkey. This expression was bottled in the 1960s, carries a 6 year age statement and 90 proof, bottled in an enormous half gallon size container back in the days when you could still buy whiskey by the Gallons at stores.

For this range, Kelsey McKechnie has made a small selection of our rarest casks, each of exceptional quality and unique individual flavor to bring together in a tun marriage.

The Balvenie Thirty is the result of a flawless whisky marriage. Traditional American and European Oak casks are brought together to craft an incredibly intricate and balanced expression.

The Balvenie Thirty’s silky sweetness gives way to rich honey, mellow oaky tones and hints of candied orange peel.

This distillery’s first-ever release of a 45-year-old Single Malt Scotch whisky, aged for over four decades and then finished in ice-fractured casks. This is the finale to an adventurous series of wild-whisky experiments - the third and last of the Xpedition Oak Series, a collection of rare, high-aged Single Malt whiskies.

Twelve heavily charred American Oak casks were taken on a Glacial Voyage into Canadian ice fields and exposed to sub-zero temperatures and raw, biting Arctic winds. The increased surface area available for the whisky to interact with the wood, during the finishing period, enabled the whisky to travel deeper into the casks and obtain spicier & sweeter aromas from the American Oak ex Bourbon barrels, to unearths new, resilient depths of this distilleries character

Nose: Rich, dry and mellow, with a light peppery prickle. Clear maritime top notes speak of seaweed and iodine; their glacial mineral companions suggest slaked lime and salt crystals. Below, complex sweet aromas hint at dried fruits and creamy vanilla, bringing depth and richness. Light smoke threads the background, touched by aromatic sandalwood. A drop of water adds a trace of almond toffee: the other aromas remain, joined by a note of hemp rope.

Palate: The texture is wondrously oil-smooth and mouth-filling; the taste starts toffee-sweet then becomes mouth-wateringly salty and increasingly peppery; even at this age there is a striking intensity to it, and a fine chili ‘catch’. A dash of water integrates these tastes. An attractive saltiness to the toffee now suggests salted caramels, with slightly less pepper.

Finish: Very long, with aglorious chili pepper effectand a trace of candle-wax;this grows in the aftertaste,in which both saltiness andpepper also persist. Saltierif water is added, with less pepper and faint scented smoke.
