A limited release in 2017 and again in 2018, E.H. Taylor Four Grain is made from a “distinct bourbon recipe” using corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley. It was distilled in 2005 and entered into the barrel at 104 proof. According to Buffalo Trace, these are the four grains E.H.Taylor would have had access to in the late 1800s, which is why they were ultimately chosen for this release. In the company’s press release, master distiller Harlen Wheatley states, “We wanted to extract everything we like from both the rye and the wheat mashbills we currently use and combine them to see how they react. Not surprisingly, it added complexity to the finished product.”
TASTING NOTES:
Tastes of caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. The aftertaste is a soft mouth-feel that turns into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco.

Buffalo Trace Distillery has recreated his traditional sour mash and produced a limited edition, one-time offering of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Old Fashioned Sour Mash Bourbon Whiskey for a true bourbon aficionado. A few years prior a gathering of Distillery retirees, a method was recounted for making "Old Fashioned Sour Mash whiskey. Edmund Hayes Taylor Jr. (EHTaylor) was known to use this technique in the late 1800's. Taylor's technique involved allowing the mash to sour naturally for days before distillation. Distilled in 2002, and bottled in 2012, this bourbon is a modern replication of this old-fashioned method. Using Taylor's original sourcing process, the result is a bourbon fo character and body like none other today. The combination of a rare estimated 10 year aging, winning the 2012 Gold Medal as one of the fifty best bourbons, and the extremely rare limited release make this bottle nearly impossible to find.

Old Forester is honored to release its most anticipated annual whisky: Birthday Bourbon. This year's expression is 12 years old and 92 proof and the bottle offers a unique twist that sets it apart from previous years.
In a rare departure from tradition, this year's batch was created without the use of "setback" during fermentation — a standard practice that ensures consistency. Instead, a "sweet mash" process was used, relying solely on freshly-propagated yeast.
This anomaly resulted in a silky and sweet flavor profile that shines at 92 proof.
These rare barrels from one day's production (April 5, 2013) were selected by Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo.
It was drawn from 210 barrels aged in Warehouse K, Floors 1 and 5.
"For our 25th Birthday Bourbon release, the absence of setback allowed the yeast to express its full character, creating a flavor profile that's both delicate and complex," Trigo said.

Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon the American Whiskey of the Year in Jim Murray’s 2014 & 2017 Whisky Bibles. It’s the ultimate ambrosia. Unlike the Small Batch, The Cowboy comes from our Master Distiller and our Founder's favorite barrels. They’re set aside for a couple of years for further maturation and the liquid is bottled at cask-strength, uncut and unfiltered. It takes a special barrel to create a bourbon nectar sweet enough to be enjoyed at such a high proof. The potency normally overpowers the flavor. This ain’t the case with the Cowboy – it’s so sweet, the flavor overpowers its proof. And you can thank the Texas heat for that.
This the second release of Garrison Brothers Cowboy Bourbon. This release from 2015 was aged for four years and bottled at a barrel proof of 135 proof. Only 5200 bottles were produced.
The Garrison Brothers 2015 Cowboy Bourbon is a rare (only 5,200 bottles) and highly sought-after cask-strength release from Texas' first legal distillery. Aged in the blazing Texas heat, this bourbon delivers bold flavors of rich caramel, toasted oak, and dark fruit, with a long and smooth finish. The 2015 edition is uncut and unfiltered, offering a true expression of Texan craftsmanship and spirit.

PRODUCER'S NOTES: "A younger version of our famous 20-year-old Pappy Van Winkle’ Family Reserve, this bourbon was crafted according to our exclusive family wheated recipe. The smooth, oak flavor blends well with the barrel proof. Selected from barrels in the heart of our Kentucky warehouse, it has remained untouched for 15 years and unhurried by time."
Inspired by private single barrels offered in 1964 by former Old Forester president George Garvin Brown II, this modern offering is specifically selected from matured barrels with exquisite quality and distinct characteristics.
“President’s Choice has always been an incredibly rare and cherished bottle, and most consumers have never seen it, let alone tasted the whisky,” Master Taster Melissa Rift said. “We are honored to bring it to a wider audience.”
“Every barrel selected for President’s Choice tells a story,” Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo said.
“These are the barrels that showcase an extraordinary depth of character. Whether it’s the bourbon or our new rye, each bottle represents the pinnacle of Old Forester’s craftsmanship.”
Each President’s Choice barrel is aged between 7 - 9 years, and bottled at proof points selected by Caleb and Melissa highlighting their unique flavor profile, traditionally ranging from 110 to 125 proof. Every bottle reflects the highest standards of selection, with only the finest barrels deemed worthy of carrying the President’s Choice name.
Little Book “The Easy” features uncut, unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon blended with corn whiskey, rye whiskey, and malt whiskey – the three ingredients commonly found in a bourbon mash bill—to create an easy-drinking whiskey that’s blended to be one of a kind.
It all started when I was working in our Global Innovation Center, learning all about blending. I looked at the different types of whiskies available and saw that we had individual corn, rye and malt barrels. I wondered, “If you blend those together to the exact proportions of a bourbon mash bill, will it taste like bourbon?” So I tried it. I blended 4-year-old corn, rye, and malt whiskey, and let me tell you, it didn’t taste like bourbon at all! The corn whiskey overpowered everything else, since the rye whiskey also had some corn in it.
It wasn’t balanced at all. That’s when I was inspired to blend in the fourth component—some actual finished bourbon whiskey.
When I started my search, our team gave me access to nearly every barrel we had in storage. I tasted and tinkered with bourbon aged six and even nine years, trying to achieve just what I was looking for in my inaugural release. What I found was that blending in four-year-old bourbon did what those others could not—ensured that all ingredients could complement each other without a single piece overpowering the final taste profile.
I found the balance I was looking for. And with it, a new whiskey I’m truly proud of.
