Tasting Notes: Orange blossom honey and plums. A nice brightness of cherry blossom and citrus oil. The palate is viscous. Lots of caramel, cherry and baking spice. It balances nicely with each sip showing off a little more of each note. The finish is long with plums, toasted sugar and tobacco.

Story: Fortuna was a prolific brand in the United States from the late 1800’s until the 1960’s, when they closed the doors on the distillery.   • Nose: Full, rich, vibrant: baked apple, cinnamon, maple and an icing note pops on the nose. There's cherry, orange peel, fuji and red delicious apple, cinnamon, brown butter and delicious maple candies that just emanates. Tons of sweetness, oakiness begins to show after a moment in the glass with a hint of char, loads of baking spice and maple with some light pipe tobacco and creamy, decadent, vanilla bean. 
  • Palate: Rich and layered, the supple, pillowy, opulent texture of the old Canadian marries well with the rich, faintly brash qualities of the Kentucky whiskey. Delivering rich brioche and cinnamon, fatty syrupy dessert characters like caramel and toffee and praline with notes of pepper, bold oak, a hint of pipe tobacco and gobs of brittle this becomes a sneaky beast. Hints of marmalade and deep, luxardo cherry develop with airtime. 
  • Finish: Long, long, holding, grippy, balanced. There's oak, it holds, it carries all of the dessert character, baking spice, toffee and a faint show of honey before satisfying oak, apple bake, vanilla bean and more brulee takes over.

The Willett Family Estate Small Batch Bourbon is a commingling of two classic Willett family mash bills. A new addition to the Willett family of brands with legendary roots and fresh elegance. Both mash bills enter the barrel at 125 proof with a final bottling proof to vary among batches based on the discretion of Master Distiller and fifth generation whiskey maker, Drew Kulsveen.

This bourbon aged and matured in the finest oak barrels from Canton Cooperage at Buffalo Trace Distillery. Harvested from select American white oak, these staves are hand-sorted and open-air seasoned in Kentucky. This rigorous preparation ensures the wood perfectly influences the spirit’s flavor, honoring the storied journey from forest to barrel.

One of three new single barrels, OBSF has lush notes of apple, vanilla, and cocoa greeting the palate with a luxurious richness, while a bright touch of rye and a hint of brown sugar balance things out. The result is a bourbon with a lasting, full-bodied flavor that seamlessly marries sweetness with mellow spice to elevate all favorite bourbon-forward cocktails; however, this recipe is also enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
