Unit price perWild Turkey, the award-winning distillery renowned for its bold Kentucky bourbon, is looking to its own legendary past for inspiration to inform its future. Today, the distillery introduced Austin Nichols Archives Collection, a new limited-edition annual series commemorating some of the most coveted vintage bottles in Wild Turkey’s storied history. The inaugural release in the series, Gold Foil Edition, is a 16-year-old 120-proof Kentucky straight bourbon crafted to capture the spirit of one of Wild Turkey’s most iconic vintages from the 1980s and 1990s, affectionately known by fans as “Cheesy Gold Foil.”
Launching after the hugely successful Master’s Keep series concluded last year, Austin Nichols Archives introduces a new line of highly collectible, limited-edition bourbons. It is the first Wild Turkey Series to be led by Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, carrying the Russell family legacy of uncompromising quality into the next generation. Bruce first conceived the series more than a decade ago to honor his grandfather, Jimmy Russell, and to reimagine beloved classic bottlings through a modern lens while paying tribute to Wild Turkey’s signature approach to bourbon making. For Bruce, the Austin Nichols Archives Collection is both a personal passion project and a major professional milestone.
The first release, Gold Foil Edition, pays homage to the exceptional whiskeys that emerged during the so-called “Glut Era,” a period when whiskey fell out of favor and inventories swelled. During that time, Jimmy often blended older barrels into standard bottlings, creating bourbons with remarkable depth, intensity and the distinctive “mature oak funk” that many enthusiasts believe is rarely found in modern releases. To recreate the richness, character, and unmistakable profile of that era, Gold Foil Edition was crafted with a longer aging process and higher proof, allowing Bruce to achieve exactly what he set out to create.
“Austin Nichols Archives has been a labor of love, and I’m excited to finally share it with bourbon lovers everywhere,” said Russell. “Gold Foil Edition was the perfect bourbon to launch the collection. Inspired by a personal favorite of mine and of many Wild Turkey fans, I drew on everything I’ve learned from my father and grandfather to create a whiskey that honors the Wild Turkey legacy.”
With Gold Foil Edition, bourbon lovers can expect notes of Wild Turkey's ‘signature funk’, dark fruit and mature oak, alongside cherry cola, clove, dark honey, and an extremely long finish of peppery spice, brown sugar, and leather. The 16-year-old, non-chill filtered, 120-proof bourbon was crafted from barrels sourced from Wild Turkey’s celebrated Camp Nelson F, D, and E rickhouses.
The packaging is as artful as the bourbon itself. Inspired by vintage advertising and Wild Turkey’s origin story, the canister features an autumnal hunting scene that nods to how the brand got its name. Inside, gold foil lining and a label reminiscent of the original vintage complete the tribute. In a playful touch for devoted fans, each release in the series will include a different hidden Easter egg, beginning with the Gold Foil Edition. As the hunt for vintage bourbons, or “dusties,” continues among enthusiasts, this collection invites fans to create new memories with whiskeys inspired by Wild Turkey’s most iconic releases.
First introduced in 2017, E.H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain Bourbon Whiskey is a 100-proof, small-batch bourbon crafted from a distinctive recipe featuring high-quality corn, rye, wheat and malted barley – grains that would have been accessible to Taylor in the 1800s. Distilled in 2015 and aged for ten years, this expression stands apart within the E.H. Taylor, Jr. lineup of whiskeys for its unique balance of flavors. The combination of four grains creates a layered and complex profile: corn delivers foundational sweetness, rye adds spice and structure, wheat softens the palate with subtle sweetness, and malted barley contributes depth with a gentle toasted character. The result is a bourbon that is both rich and balanced, offering notes of caramel, vanilla and chocolate with a lightly spiced, lingering finish.
“What makes Four Grain so special is how unconventional it is," said Harlen Wheatley, Master Distiller at Buffalo Trace Distillery. "It’s also a clear example of what we call a ‘graduated experiment’ – one that began as a deliberate exploration and evolved into a release worthy of returning as a permanent expression. Rye and wheat are often used separately, but combining them creates a completely different flavor experience. Alongside corn and malted barley, we’re able to build layers of flavor that balance sweetness, spice and depth in a way you don’t typically see in bourbon.”
Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu 10 Year Old is the distillery’s second age-statement single malt, following The First Ten released in 2020. It is bottled at 50.5% ABV.
The limited edition has been matured for a minimum of 10 years, primarily in ex-Bourbon barrels. Showcasing Chichibu’s signature fruit-forward style, the palate delivers textured notes of orange peel, peach, red currant, white pepper, and roasted malt.
Consisting of just 16 barrels, the 2025 edition of Chichibu’s US-exclusive blend of Ichiro’s Malt showcases maturation in ex-IPA and ex-imperial stout casks, lending tropical fruit and rich coffee notes to Chichibu’s distinctive fruit-forward house style. The label—always a source of playful intrigue—features Samuel Langhorne Clemens, aka Mark Twain, enjoying a dram with a Mississippi steamboat in the background, as well as his famous observation, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much whisky is barely enough."
US-exclusive limited edition single malt Japanese whisky distilled by Chichibu in Saitama, Japan. Distilled from 100% lightly peated malted barley, fermented 100 hours in Mizunara oak washbacks. Double distilled in Forsyths copper pot stills and aged 5–9 years in a combination of 16 barrels including ex-IPA casks, ex-imperial stout casks, and ex-bourbon casks; non-age statement.
Notes; Candied orange, dried pineapple, and vanilla pastry cream are complemented by hop bitterness, displaying the zip of a well-balanced cask-aged ale.

Non-chill filtered; 52.5% ABV

The Caboose
From Jim:
"The youngest child in a large family holds a unique position – they’re the recipient of a distinctive focus from both parents and siblings. Just like the last car of the train painted bright red, they stick out. Some of the undeserved attention is positive and some of it is, well, annoying. But a caboose, like a large family, is increasingly rare these days. Both are worth celebrating, ideally with a good bourbon.
"Like previous Fathertime releases, The Caboose was created by me and Stu tasting barrels and blending until we found something smooth, balanced, and worth sharing. Each batch is small and carefully selected, and every bottle is personally signed by me – a process that is admittedly a pain in the ass, but ultimately worth it. Much like fatherhood."
Empty Nester (Cask) Strength
From Jim:
"As my appreciation for bourbon evolved, so did my preference for a stronger pour. That’s why some bottles of The Caboose are released at cask strength (121.0 proof), which I affectionately call 'Empty Nester Strength.'
"When children finally leave the home, parents enter a unique stage in their journey. While empty nesters are often characterized as being victoriously liberated from parental responsibilities, they sometimes also experience a level of grief. The grip of love and fear that permeates parenting grows a little tighter. And some nights that calls for a stronger bourbon."
Stagg Jr. - Older Batch with "Jr" on Label (no specific batch)
George T. Stagg built the most dominant American distillery of the 19th century, during a time known as the Gilded Age of Bourbon. Uncut and unfiltered, this robust bourbon whiskey ages for nearly a decade and boasts the bold character that is reminiscent of the man himself.
