After a four-year absence, the popular peated Chichibu expression has made its return! The Chichibu distillery, founded by Ichiro Akuto, began production in February 2008. It was the first new distillery in Japan since 1973, when Suntory opened Hakushu. Chichibu is located about 70 kilometres northwest of Tokyo. The local climate, with humid summers and cold winters, provides excellent conditions for maturing whisky. Chichibu The Peated 2022 is a complex single malt with a good balance of intense peat and fruitiness. On the nose, you’ll find aromas of light peat, campfire smoke, iodine, gentle custard, peach, apple, black tea and vanilla. The peat smoke develops on the palate with notes of iodine, lemon, bright fruits, caramel, vanilla and pepper. The finish is long with lingering bitter chocolate, peat smoke and citrus fruits.
Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 Single Malt is a vatting of whiskies ranging from 6 to 13 years of age that are matured in 36 red wine barrels from France, America, New Zealand, and Japan. The nose presents all the beauty of dark red fruit that intermingles with the malty aromas of honey and cocoa. An exceedingly smooth dram; its flavors of citrus, loquat, blueberry, and anise yield to a wonderfully bittersweet finish of clove and milk chocolate. Another stunner of a single malt from the wonderful craftspeople of Chichibu Distillery.

On the nose and palate this is extremely rich full of wonderful sweet oak, dry vanilla, and rich fruit. It's absolutely stunning and extremely rare for what you can get on the market today!

This one-time, barrel-proof bottling is comprised of 27-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon produced between 1989 and 1990 at Old Heaven Hills Springs Distillery before it was destroyed by fire in 1996. Only 41 barrels of pre-fire Bourbon were included in this bottling, and when all barrels were mingled, the natural proof was an unusually low 94.7 proof. Produced from some of the oldest barrels in Kentucky, this Bourbon will make a profound statement on bar shelves and palates alike.
