This limited-edition whiskey is crafted with a cumulative aging time of 10 years in new American oak and port wine barrels, representing a landmark moment for the brand, delivering an unparalleled depth of flavor and complexity.

Bottled at 122.6 proof, this expression is one of the brand's most robust releases to date, offering both character and refined elegance. Developed under the expertise of Master Distiller Owen Martin, Angel's Envy 10 Cask Strength showcases the precision and expertise that defines his approach to whiskey making. Martin personally guided every stage of the expression, ensuring it reflects the balance of tradition and innovation at the heart of Angel's Envy.

Hibiki means “Resonance” in Japanese. From its launch in 1989 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Suntory, Hibiki embodies the Suntory philosophy to live in harmony with nature and people. As the Founding House of Japanese Whisky and A House of Master Blenders, the House of Suntory has gone to great lengths to explore the breadth and depth of what Harmony can mean for a blend. Every Hibiki expression is one of the most sought after blends in the world where every Hibiki expression is meticulously crafted for us to discover a different kind of Harmony. Achieving the right balance and orchestration proved to be a great challenge from the start since the Sakura cask is one with strong character that can easily become overbearing. 

After much trial and error, we found that the grain whiskies finished in the Sakura cask best elevated the overall balance as a Blossoming Harmony slowly unfolding. The end result is a particularly unique expression of Hibiki. The invitation of an enticing floral bouquet, followed by the signature Hibiki depth and complexity of honey, candied orange peel, jasmine and chocolatey decadence, all climaxing to a surprising finish of bitter sweet spicy notes.

A world renowned Japanese blend, Hibiki 17 Year Old is made with aged malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's distilleries. Initially released in 1989, the blend is matured in Japanese mizunara oak casks at Yamazaki. Hibiki means harmony, which has certainly been achieved in this wonderful and iconic blend.

Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu 10 Year Old is the distillery’s second age-statement single malt, following The First Ten released in 2020. It is bottled at 50.5% ABV.

The limited edition has been matured for a minimum of 10 years, primarily in ex-Bourbon barrels. Showcasing Chichibu’s signature fruit-forward style, the palate delivers textured notes of orange peel, peach, red currant, white pepper, and roasted malt.

In the world of vintage "dusty" bourbon, the 101-proof expressions from I.W. Harper are the stuff of legends. While the standard 86 proof was built for the casual sipper, the 101 Proof Gold Medal was engineered for the connoisseur. This is a high-proof time capsule from the mid-to-late 20th century, offering a level of richness, spice, and "old-school" Kentucky muscle that has largely vanished from modern shelves.

The Vintage Profile: High-Proof Heritage

Distilled at the historic Bernheim Distillery during the height of its craftsmanship, the 101 proof expression carries the same elegant, corn-forward sweetness of the brand but delivers it with a concentrated punch. The extra ABV preserves the essential oils and esters, resulting in a significantly "chewier" and more aromatic experience.

• Nose: Intense and inviting. Deep aromas of burnt sugar, maple syrup, and dark cherries. Beneath the sweetness lies the classic vintage notes, a mix of old leather, cigar box, and a hint of herbal mint.

• Palate: Full-bodied and explosive. The 50.5% ABV carries heavy notes of buttery toffee, cinnamon-red-hot candies, and dark cocoa. It possesses a remarkable "viscosity" that coats the palate, showcasing the quality of the grains used decades ago.

• Finish: Long, spicy, and triumphant. A warming waves of charred oak, peppercorn, and vanilla bean that refuses to quit.

The Bourbon Collector's Perspective

The 101 Proof I.W. Harper is increasingly difficult to find, as much of this stock was originally designated for the international export market, particularly Japan, where it became a cult favorite. Finding a well-preserved bottle today is like discovering a lost masterwork. It is the perfect bridge between the approachable Gold Medal profile and the raw power of a cask-strength "dusty."
