Signet begins with our precious chocolate malt spirit, made just once a year in our giraffe-high stills. Its espresso-like intensity fills our Distillery with aromas more familiar in an Italian coffee bar.
Over the years, we temper its power with rare and treasured casks. Bourbon for creaminess. Sherry for sweetness. The spice of virgin charred oak. All balanced by some of the oldest whisky we own.

The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a marriage of rare Balvenie aged 21 years in traditional oak casks and then finished in port casks or “pipes”. The taste is refined and with remarkable character, it is creamy and silky on the palate, with fruit, honey and spice notes. On the nose it is perfume of fruity and ripe raisin notes, backed by a nutty dryness with a long, gentle and nutty finish. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks or with a splash of water to expand the flavor. Handcrafted to be enjoyed responsibly. The Macallan Fine Oak range 21 Years Old forms part of the Fine Oak range and is matured for a minimum of twenty one years in three exceptional oak cask types. This complex combination of casks delivers an intense and rich flavour profile with notes of vanilla and spice.
100% natural in colour, all of our exceptional whiskies from The Macallan are shaped from time spent in the very best casks; maturing, nurturing and developing character. World renowned colour masters at the Pantone Color Institute™ created a uniquely bold shade of purple; reflecting an enigmatic, multi-faceted and intricate combination of red and blue.
To make The Balvenie DoubleWood, David Stewart MBE takes whisky that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whisky casks, American Oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, and moves it to Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks for an additional nine months.
The whisky is then transferred to large oak vessels called “tuns” for 3-4 months to allow the whiskies from individual casks to “marry”.
The Balvenie DoubleWood single malt whisky gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting single malt whisky.
The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavor and the final few months in our tuns allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously.

Unit price perSmoothly creamy and really mouth-filling in texture, very sweet to taste at first then quickly drying, with a sprinkling of salt and a controlled smokiness. Drying in feel, and quite gentle. Fresh, clean phenols rise to the fore at once with aromas of a smoldering bonfire on a distant beach. Long, finally powerfully smoky and drying, with a twist of warming spice that also lingers in the aftertaste.
From Scotland’s tallest stills, Glenmorangie’s Quinta Ruban is first aged in ex-bourbon casks, which impart smooth, fruity notes. Transferred into specially selected ruby port pipes from Portugal’s finest estates, Quinta Ruban gains new depth, velvety textures and bold chocolate flavours. This whisky is non-chill-filtered to highlight its complex aromas and rich mouthfeel.

In our giraffe-high stills, it begins soft and fruity, then gets darker and deeper as we let it age for 14 years in bourbon casks and port casks from Portugal.
The finished whisky is a thicket of voluptuous flavour combinations. Walnut and black pepper. Mandarin orange and melted marshmallow. Dark chocolate bar and peppermint.
Like stepping into a chocolate-minty-orange unknown, the journey is as delicious as the destination.
