The 2026 vintage was drawn from a batch of 212 barrels that matured together on the third floor of Warehouse B at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Louisville. The whiskey began as Old Forester's signature mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. A quirk of production distinguishes this batch: the new make spirit rested in the cistern room for six days over a holiday weekend, and natural tank venting eased the barrel entry proof to 124.4 from the usual 125 — a small shift that subtly shaped how the spirit took to the wood over eleven Kentucky summers.
