As the Founding House of Japanese Whisky and A House of Master Blenders, the House of Suntory has gone to great lengths to explore the breadth and depth of what Harmony can mean for a blend. Every Hibiki expression is one of the most sought after blends in the world where every Hibiki expression is meticulously crafted for us to discover a different kind of Harmony. Achieving the right balance and orchestration proved to be a great challenge from the start since the Sakura cask is one with strong character that can easily become overbearing. 

After much trial and error, we found that the grain whiskies finished in the Sakura cask best elevated the overall balance as a Blossoming Harmony slowly unfolding. The end result is a particularly unique expression of Hibiki. The invitation of an enticing floral bouquet, followed by the signature Hibiki depth and complexity of honey, candied orange peel, jasmine and chocolatey decadence, all climaxing to a surprising finish of bitter sweet spicy notes.

Harper was a global icon of sophistication, this "dusty" bottle offers a flavor profile that modern automated distilling simply cannot replicate.

The Vintage Profile: Deep, Dark, and Decadent

Whiskey from this era is celebrated for its "old-school" concentration. Because these barrels were often aged longer than their labels suggested due to the "bourbon glut" of the 70s, the liquid is remarkably dense and honeyed.

• Nose: An immediate wave of antique oak and "dusty" warehouse funk. It opens into rich butterscotch, dried apricots, and a distinct note of beeswax and old leather.

• Palate: Silky and medium-bodied. At 86 proof, it is incredibly approachable, yet surprisingly complex. Expect layers of clover honey, Werther’s Original caramels, and a soft, floral rye spice, fruity jam sweetness that has mellowed beautifully over five decades.

Ten years ago, before rye whiskey's present-day popularity, Eddie Russell hand-selected and laid down what would eventually become Master's Keep Triumph. Inspired by the affinity that his son, Associate Blender Bruce Russell, has for rye, Eddie began exploring the possibilities offered by the spicy and bold style of whiskey. After a decline in popularity post-prohibition, many distillers pulled the spirit from shelves while Wild Turkey held true to its convictions and continued to produce top-quality rye with mainstay products like Wild Turkey 101 Rye. The name Triumph speaks to the contemporary revival of rye whiskey, now recognized for its quality and distinctive profile, and to Wild Turkey's reverence for all the spirit has to offer.

"The Master's Keep series continues to be a display of our creativity and quality at Wild Turkey. We've always seen the collection as a vehicle to tell stories that celebrate our heritage and who we are as a distillery," says Wild Turkey's Master Distiller Eddie Russell. "This particular release was inspired by Bruce's fondness for rye and is a nod to his influence on my work. The Master's Keep series first started in 2015 as a way for Master Distiller Eddie Russell to showcase his unique approach to making bourbon. Triumph is the second rye whiskey to be released within the series, following Master's Keep Cornerstone in 2019. Building upon the high standard set by Cornerstone and fan favorites Wild Turkey 101 Rye and Rare Breed Rye, Triumph serves as an evolution of the distillery's rye craftsmanship while proudly donning the oldest age statement ever for a Wild Turkey rye.

Master's Keep Triumph's extended maturation helped to develop a complex and bold flavor profile that's consistent with the high quality that fans have come to expect from the Master's Keep collection. The 104-proof expression features sweet honey and clove notes that transition to dark chocolate, dates and spice with a rich mocha-coffee and black pepper finish. While conventional ryes are enjoyed by many in cocktails, Master's Keep Triumph gives reason to enjoy rye on the rocks or neat.

Step back into 1976—the year of the American Bicentennial and a pivotal moment in Kentucky distilling. This vintage Jim Beam White Label isn't just a bottle of whiskey; it is a survivor of the "Bourbon Glut," an era where high-quality, well-aged stocks were plentiful, and the "Beam Funk" was at its most traditional.

Unlike today’s mass-produced expressions, this 1976 bottling was produced using mid-century methods, featuring the classic Sour Mash process that defined the Beam family legacy for seven generations. Complete with its original period-correct box, this is a centerpiece for any "dusty" bourbon collection.

Tasting Notes (The 1970s Profile)

• Nose: A nostalgic bouquet of toasted peanuts, vanilla bean, and old cellar oak. There is a distinct "dusty" sweetness, like honeycomb and dried corn husks.

• Palate: Surprisingly creamy and oily. Notes of butterscotch and baking spices (cinnamon/clove) lead into the signature roasted nut character that modern Beam fans will find much deeper and richer here.

• Finish: Clean but warming, with a lingering hint of charred oak and caramel corn.
