Jim Beam White Label Sour Mash bourbon from 1976. Comes with box.
A Liquid Time Capsule of 1970s Americana
Step back into 1976—the year of the American Bicentennial and a pivotal moment in Kentucky distilling. This vintage Jim Beam White Label isn't just a bottle of whiskey; it is a survivor of the "Bourbon Glut," an era where high-quality, well-aged stocks were plentiful, and the "Beam Funk" was at its most traditional.
Unlike today’s mass-produced expressions, this 1976 bottling was produced using mid-century methods, featuring the classic Sour Mash process that defined the Beam family legacy for seven generations. Complete with its original period-correct box, this is a centerpiece for any "dusty" bourbon collection.
Tasting Notes (The 1970s Profile)
-
Nose: A nostalgic bouquet of toasted peanuts, vanilla bean, and old cellar oak. There is a distinct "dusty" sweetness, like honeycomb and dried corn husks.
-
Palate: Surprisingly creamy and oily. Notes of butterscotch and baking spices (cinnamon/clove) lead into the signature roasted nut character that modern Beam fans will find much deeper and richer here.
-
Finish: Clean but warming, with a lingering hint of charred oak and caramel corn.

The Kavalan Distillery in Taiwan was founded in 2005 by T.T. Lee, president of the Taiwanese food conglomerate King Car Group. His greatest wish was to open his own whisky distillery in Taiwan. Kavalan is the name of the Yilan region, which lies southeast of the capital Taipei. An important reason for choosing this location is the excellent water quality. In Yilan, there is enough cold spring water flowing through Snow Mountain. The Solist range of Kavalan Distillery includes specially selected barrels from the Master Blenders. These barrels are known for their individual character and fine quality. 'Fino' is the Spanish word for 'fine' and is the driest and lightest of all traditional sherries. This whiskey matures in the finest Fino sherry casks. FREDDIE'S NOTE
With “Lessons Honored” I wanted to pay homage to my father, Fred, and the lessons he passed down about bourbon and life. A lot of the lessons Dad taught me go back to honesty and integrity. Being true to yourself is something that’s very important in our family and that carries over into our whiskey brands. Each liquid was chosen because of a connection to my dad and a lesson he taught me. The base of the blend is a Kentucky Straight Brown Rice Bourbon which reminds me of the first project I ever really handled on my own at the distillery. The “high rye” rye whiskey is an ode to Booker’s Rye, an award-winning product created in 2017 and one of the first that Dad and I tasted together. It was a legendary release in honor of my granddaddy Booker Noe, and it was very special to play a small part in selecting and bottling the liquid with my dad. The last liquid Dad actually helped pick, though he didn’t know it at the time. I brought him samples of a few liquids at different ages, and he ultimately picked this 7-year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, which is representative of our Small Batch Collection.Crafting this bourbon wasn’t as difficult as previous years, because I had such a strong vision for the blend going into the liquid selection. In total, we tested 22 different blends in comparison to previous chapters where we tested more than 40. I spent most of my time perfecting the blend itself to balance the flavors and taste profile to create the final product. This year’s blue neck tag is also an ode to my dad’s favorite sports team
