The bourbon was aged seven to eight years in the upper floors of Rickhouse Q, then finished for four months in barrels that previously held French Orange Curaçao liqueur. This is the second barrel-finished bourbon in the collection, following in the steps of the 5th Edition Cognac finished Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Traditional bourbon notes of vanilla and caramel upfront that are quickly washed over with a wave of orange soda, candied fruits, and mild barrel char. A flash of orange marmalade, orange sponge candy, slight bitterness, and sugary alcoholic bite instantly reminds me of Grand Marnier. Seasoned oak and hearty vanilla notes roll in, bumping out the majority of the Orange Curaçao barrel finish.Seasoned oak and vanilla notes carry over into the finish and dominate. Sugary orange notes weave throughout, but struggle to really pop.

Inspired by legendary tales from San Luis Potosí, the spirit and decanter of our newest icon capture the essence of this state’s desert slopes and valleys.

Its mezcal is made with green agave, a plant native to the deserts in the state of San Luis Potosí.

High West The Prisoner's Share Wine Barrel Finished Whiskey is a decadent blend of straight whiskeys finished in The Prisoner Red Blend wine barrels, featuring sophisticated notes of raspberry jam, toasted mahogany, crème brûlée, black pepper, cherry cola, and French oak spice character. Equally decadent and expressive is the limited-release High West Whiskey bottle, which is adorned with artwork from Francisco Goya and a signature medallion, showcasing the indulgent and unforgettable creation of co-conspirators High West Distillery and The Prisoner Wine Company. This blended whiskey opens with aromas of cherry blossom, pomegranate, macerated prunes, dried violets, ginger beer, dark mead, and toasted cedar chips. A distinctive blend of aged straight rye and straight bourbon whiskeys, The Prisoner's Share offers a palate of honey-roasted figs, apricot jam on grilled brioche, black pepper, coconut pound cake, French oak spice, and caramel drizzled over blood-orange slices, with a bold but inviting finish of cold-brew coffee, berry crème brûlée, and roasted pecans. 

Coming across a 14-year-old Rye is rare, giving our Master Blenders pause when presented with such a uniquely bold liquid. A born traveler, this whiskey was distilled in Indiana and then journeyed across state lines into Kentucky, aged to perfection at the infamous Stitzel-Weller Distillery.

A full-bodied aroma of sweet vanilla buttercream and lightly toasted oak is accented with banana bread and just a hint of berries. Upon taste, a collection of baking spices and rye toast complement a medley of orchard fruits, and finishes with sweet notes of orange marmalade and a light warmth which fades into lingering dark chocolate.

The Knob Creek 21 Year is a limited-edition, ultra-aged Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), known for its deep flavors of charred oak, vanilla, and caramel, with notes of dark fruit, baking spice, and a long, warming finish. It is a rare release from the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, offering a complex, mature profile shaped by 21 years of aging in deeply charred American oak barrels.

Kentucky Boy is a rare, curated whisky crafted by Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall and Old Forester Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo in honor of their mentor. It is a one-time release, with a limited number of bottles.

McCall and Trigo created this exceptional expression that was inspired by whiskies that Morris developed during his legendary career including Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, King of Kentucky, and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.

Morris began his journey with Brown-Forman in 1976, eventually rising to become just the fifth Master Distiller in Old Forester history and the guiding force behind Woodford Reserve, now a global brand. Known affectionately across the industry as a true Kentucky legend, his dedication to flavor innovation helped usher in the global renaissance of premium bourbon.

Looking back on his 50-year contribution to Kentucky bourbon, Morris shared: “It has been an honor and a privilege to have played a role in the renaissance of Kentucky bourbon. Seeing consumers appreciate bourbon on a level historically afforded that of Single Malt Scotch and Cognac is most gratifying. I am confident that future generations of Kentucky bourbon distillers will continue to build upon the momentum we started nearly 50 years ago.”

To honor Morris’ half-century legacy, Brown-Forman turned to the Brown-Forman Archives to resurrect a historic brand name from its 150-year history. The Kentucky Boy label was originally acquired in 1923 when the company purchased Louisville’s Lynndale Distillery during Prohibition. Marketed through the 1940s under a thoroughbred racing theme, the dormant brand now returns from the archive vault to celebrate one of the bourbon industry’s true champions with an unprecedented blend that offers collectors a liquid timeline of Morris’ impact on the modern bourbon landscape.
