Set beside the canal on a hill overlooking the vibrant city of Glasgow, the Port Dundas Distillery was a prominent local landmark established in 1810, which gave the world two centuries of exceptional whisky. Although Port Dundas closed its doors in 2010, there are select, rare remaining stocks that allow a glimpse into the glorious past of one of Scotland’s most respected and historic distilleries. Muckety-Muck is one of those rare single grain scotches boasting 24 years of aging and is the first single grain scotch for the Orphan Barrel Whiskey Co. The aroma starts with a burst of caramel and notes of baked sugar backed by the taste of crisp fruit and light toasted oak. The fruit forward flavor is blended with hints of butterscotch vanilla which carry through to the finish.

From the distiller:
Over the past few years, we have set aside a selection of our oldest barrels. Upon identifying a magnificent range, we began a meticulous blending process to create the next edition of The Vaults. True to Widow Jane, these barrels were married together only ever in hyper small batches. The result is a bourbon unparalleled in its complexity, yet rarer still for its age. This luxuriant whiskey, once married, was then finished in barrels raised with four-year air-seasoned Chinquapin oak. The finishing barrel’s oak staves were air seasoned for at least 48 months. The track of timber from which this Chinquapin was harvested hails from Northern Kentucky, on a limestone rich shelf, providing ideal soil nutrients and conditions for this rarer species to grow.
Nose: Toasted Marshmallow, Pear Turnover, Honey Dew, Cinnamon
Palate: Honeycomb, Butterscotch, Raisin, Molasses, Dried Apricots, Root Beer
Finish: Pralines & Cream, Roasted Oolong, Black Walnut, Licorice The Vaults 2023 is a limited-edition release worldwide on strict allocation.
The Reserves launched last year (2024) as the first innovation to come from Booker’s Bourbon since the 30th Anniversary launch. The Reserves is an annual, limited-release series by Freddie, to commemorate his grandaddy, 6th Generation Master Distiller Booker Noe, and his contributions to the bourbon world.
The 2025 batch tells the story of some well-traveled barrels: first used to age the beloved Booker’s 30th Anniversary release, then shipped to Jalisco where the Camarena family filled them with El Tesoro’s 85th Anniversary tequila. Finally, those same agave-seasoned barrels returned to Clermont, Kentucky, where Freddie Noe finished a hand-selected batch of Booker’s inside them. This is the very first time across the entire Beam portfolio that a product is finished in tequila barrels.
The result is a one-of-a-kind bourbon – uncut and unfiltered. It was bottled at 123.3 proof and aged exactly eight years, ten months and eleven days.
“In many ways, it’s the same Booker’s you know and love,” Freddie Noe said. “Always uncut and unfiltered. But in other ways, The Reserves is something new, inspired by my granddaddy’s boundless curiosity and relentless pursuit of flavor.”
