Unit price perSince the beginning of the colonial days in America, Marylanders have been trailblazing what has become the state’s signature style of rye whiskey. In the decades leading up to Prohibition, Maryland along with Pennsylvania and Kentucky led the nation in the production of distilled spirits and Maryland rye whiskey was imitated and sought after throughout the land. After Prohibition, the Maryland whiskey industry never fully recovered, and what was revived died a slow death, with the last Maryland whiskey distillery ceasing production in 1972. For the following forty years, the once-great Maryland whiskey lineage that spanned more than two centuries was no more.
MD Heritage Rye was recently started by two friends of ours in the spirits industry and was built to showcase some of the amazing brands and labels that existed during the long distilling history of Maryland. Their first 3 releases are each made up of unique blends all consisting of 14 year MGP (Indiana distilled) rye, bottled at cask strength, which is considered some of the most sought after rye on the market today. With a 14 year age statement this is also some of the oldest MGP rye released to the market in recent history and almost unheard of in the market today as most of the rye being released is half that age. We had the privilege of sampling these 3 blends and they are all fantastic. This is your chance to own a piece of "new history" and to celebrate the distilling history of Maryland.
This is the first chance to own the entire set and we have a limited number available.
MD Heritage Rye Collection includes:
1 Bottle - Mount Vernon straight rye whiskey, 14 years, 108.2pf
1 Bottle - Sherbrook straight rye whiskey, 14 years, 109.7pf
1 Bottle - Sherwood pure rye, 14 years, 110.4pf

This is the fifth release in Mars’s Bakemono series and the second to come from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in southern Kagoshima. It depicts a creeping old man named Mi-no-kedachi, or “standing up body hair.” This unsettling, hunched grandpa is theorized to be a spirit of fear or fret. Best shake off the shivers with a dram of full-bodied, peated whisky.
Crafted in Japan's highest whisky distillery, this limited 2022 release features a delicate balance of orchard fruits, malt sweetness, and a whisper of smoke—elegant and refined.

FREDDIE'S NOTE
Noe Simple Task started when I visited our Canadian distilleries in early 2017. I enjoy travelling to different places in the world to see how they distill their spirits. There, I was able to taste some great Canadian whisky straight out of the barrel. I was really drawn to the fruit and floral notes they achieve. I wanted to know more. Later in the year I went back for a deeper dive to learn all about their process. And taste some more great whisky. This was a step outside my comfort zone. The rules and laws for making whiskey in Kentucky that I grew up with don’t apply up there. But I came back inspired and began blending. Now, while the flavors of the Canadian whisky had piqued my interest, my heart still lies in Kentucky. So I was excited about the idea of bringing the best of both worlds together. Knowing I wanted to blend with Kentucky Straight Rye, I started experimenting with different Canadian whiskies, trying to pull in those fruity and floral notes. They use a lot of different barrels to age up there, so I was able to play around with a lot of different flavors. I was looking for something that would round out the blend and really showcase the nuances of both the American and Canadian whiskies. In the end, I found the 40-year-old whisky and 13-year-old rye helped me achieve exactly what I wanted—a truly balanced and refined whiskey with a nice, lingering finish that’s full of flavor.
COLOR: Golden Amber

Little Book “The Easy” features uncut, unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon blended with corn whiskey, rye whiskey, and malt whiskey – the three ingredients commonly found in a bourbon mash bill—to create an easy-drinking whiskey that’s blended to be one of a kind.
It all started when I was working in our Global Innovation Center, learning all about blending. I looked at the different types of whiskies available and saw that we had individual corn, rye and malt barrels. I wondered, “If you blend those together to the exact proportions of a bourbon mash bill, will it taste like bourbon?” So I tried it. I blended 4-year-old corn, rye, and malt whiskey, and let me tell you, it didn’t taste like bourbon at all! The corn whiskey overpowered everything else, since the rye whiskey also had some corn in it.
It wasn’t balanced at all. That’s when I was inspired to blend in the fourth component—some actual finished bourbon whiskey.
When I started my search, our team gave me access to nearly every barrel we had in storage. I tasted and tinkered with bourbon aged six and even nine years, trying to achieve just what I was looking for in my inaugural release. What I found was that blending in four-year-old bourbon did what those others could not—ensured that all ingredients could complement each other without a single piece overpowering the final taste profile.
I found the balance I was looking for. And with it, a new whiskey I’m truly proud of.

Today, Glengyle Distillery is operated by the staff of Springbank Distillery, and uses barley that has been malted at Springbank in order to produce its own single malt whisky. In addition, the distillery is the focus of innovation and experimentation for the Springbank staff — the distillery has used peated malt (a type of malt typically reserved for distilleries on Islay) and has quadruple distilled whisky in order to test its texture and flavor profile. This Kilkerran 12 year is a lightly peated whisky, comprised of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks. Expect beautiful honeyed aromas, complex flavors of sweet spice, and smooth vanilla.
