Back in the 1960s through the 80s, distilleries were having trouble selling their whiskey in bottles so they started creating unique bottlings through the use of Decanters. Old Crow, which was owned and produced by National Distillers created a full chess set of decanter bottles, complete with all pieces and the ability to send them postage to receive a carpeted chessboard as well. The whiskey inside is 86pf and age stated 10 years, but is among some of the highest rated whiskey by vintage enthusiasts that has ever been produced.

Little Book Chapter 6 is a blend of five different liquid streams using different wood staves and barrel techniques that impart a unique liquid profile due to the secondary aging. The 2023 release of the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection is a 20-year-old Corn Whiskey. Bottled without chill filtering, this 115 proof whiskey showcases our traditional corn mashbill of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley. The collection uniquely shares in-depth liquid and production information on the label for added transparency. This release’s label highlights the rickhouse and floor where barrels were pulled from. Attributes on the label will vary by release.
The first release of the Booker’s® Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker’s Batch 2023-01 “Charlie’s Batch.” This batch is named in honor of Charlie Hutchens, the craftsman behind the signature wooden boxes that each bottle of Booker’s Bourbon comes in. He is also a longtime family friend and former employee of my dad, Booker Noe.
Charlie started his career working at the Booker Noe Distillery. He was quite the storyteller and would entertain others with his tall tales throughout the workday. He was also one to pay close attention to the details, doing something over and over again until it was perfect – just like Dad was with his whiskey. It’s not hard to see why they got on so well.
After several years, Charlie left the business to open his own cabinet shop with his brother. Charlie handcrafted the very first Booker’s Bourbon wooden boxes in his garage, and he’s created every box for us since. He and his brother have expanded their business to create other fine wood products for different brands and projects in the Beam family, including supplying custom furniture to the new Fred B. Noe Distillery – where Booker’s Bourbon is now distilled.
Charlie still lives near our Booker Noe Distillery and enjoys fishing and vacationing with his family in South Carolina. One of these days, my son Freddie and I hope to get out there to fish with him. Our whole family is so grateful for Charlie as he was one of the first people to help us make Booker’s Bourbon a recognizable brand. Charlie is a very worthy recipient of his own batch, and we are excited to honor him.

United States - 55% - Old Pepper Finest Kentucky Oak Bourbon - for this special bottling we have taken a fine, straight whiskey and given it a secondary finish in heavily toasted barrels made from staves of the Finest Kentucky Oak. The result is a full-bodied and complex whiskey.
Freshly baked biscuits on the nose with a rich mouthfeel and notes of crystalized citrus. The palate is full of orange blossom, peach, touch of lemon, vanilla, and honey. Lingering finish with refined acidity.

CLIX, or 159 in Roman numerals, represents the 159 separate distillations that were required to produce this ultra-fine vodka.
As you open the antique latch, it reveals a felt top that has been covering 2 hand-blown glasses and a bottle of Van Winkle Special Reserve Bourbon Aged 12 Years laying gently and securely in a batch of hypoallergenic antique packing straw. A limited release in 2017 and again in 2018, E.H. Taylor Four Grain is made from a “distinct bourbon recipe” using corn, rye, wheat, and malted barley. It was distilled in 2005 and entered into the barrel at 104 proof. According to Buffalo Trace, these are the four grains E.H.Taylor would have had access to in the late 1800s, which is why they were ultimately chosen for this release. In the company’s press release, master distiller Harlen Wheatley states, “We wanted to extract everything we like from both the rye and the wheat mashbills we currently use and combine them to see how they react. Not surprisingly, it added complexity to the finished product.”
TASTING NOTES:
Tastes of caramel corn sweetness, mingled with butterscotch and licorice. The aftertaste is a soft mouth-feel that turns into subtle spices of pepper and tobacco.

Composed of 9x, seven-barrel batches of Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye Whiskies, CASE STUDY: 07 was finished across Calvados, Martinique Rhum, and Caribbean Rum casks; each contributing its own distinct influence. The result is not an imitation of tradition, but a continuation of it: a modern exchange where French refinement and Caribbean depth leave their mark on the structure of American whiskey.
The 2017 Dom Pérignon is so impressive. A sort of mini-2002, the 2017 is a Champagne of textural richness and resonance above all else. Its creamy, voluptuous contours are so inviting. Production for the 2017 is tiny, about a three-month supply, so this wine will come and go pretty quickly. That represents a fairly dramatic shift in philosophy at Dom Pérignon. In the past, a wine like the 2017 would not have been commercially viable because of its small volume. Today, Chef de Caves Vincent Chaperon prefers to bottle Dom Pérignon in every vintage, if possible, as a document of the year, even if that means some releases will be very small. The 2017 is a wild, exotic Dom Pérignon.
