High West A Midwinter Night's Dram Act 12 - Limited Engagement
"Are you sure That we are awake? It seems to me That yet we sleep, we dream." - Demetrius, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 4, Scene 1 - Wm. Shakespeare
Greetings good gentles and ladies. At High West, we consider whiskey an indispensable part of making it through the long cold winter. One taste of A Midwinter Night's Dram alongside a cozy fire will surely transport you to a dreamlike state. This limited release whiskey is a sumptuous marriage of our Rendezvous Rye finished in both port and French oak barrels. The rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon; the port barrels enhance with plums and dried fruits; the French oak provides a spice accent. For us, A Midwinter Night's Dram tastes like a proper Christmas plum pudding with lovely mulling spices, dried fruits, and crème anglaise.
So join us good ladies and gents. Gather 'mongst thy family and friends, and raise thy glass to winters that are "Swift as a shadow, short as any dream; Brief as the lightning in the collied night." - Lysander, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 1, Scene 1, Wm. Shakespeare
Lysander describes how quickly true love can vanish. This is how we feel about a dram of this whiskey. However, if you savor it slowly, we can attest that A Midwinter Night's Dram will help you through the coldest night.
Taste
Poached white peaches, stewed rhubarb, Italian tiramisu, candied ginger, clove, weathered cinnamon bark, fresh-pulled espresso, raspberry tarte on a cedar plank
Nose
Brandied cherries, Calimyrna figs, pecan cinnamon rolls, allspice berries, grapefruit zest, French oak shavings, hayride in the fall.
How to Enjoy
We recommend that you enjoy this special spirit neat, due to its many layers of complexity, next to a warm fire as the snow piles up on the window sill.

Booker's 2023-02 ‘Apprentice Batch’ Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Booker's 2023-02 ‘Apprentice Batch’ Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
This batch is made up of barrels that were aged in six different warehouses. The breakdown of barrel storage for Booker’s “Apprentice Batch” is as follows:
7% came from the 7th floor of 9-story warehouse H
9% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse W
11% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse 1
18% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse O
19% came from the 4th floor of 9-story warehouse G
36% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse Z
The liquid is a medium amber color from the seven years spent aging in the white oak barrels. The oak-forward aroma is well-balanced with notes of vanilla and toasted nuts, and all together the result is really pleasant. After the first sip, you’ll find the long finish doesn’t overpower the warm taste. I know Carl and Booker would’ve been proud of this batch and enjoyed it together after a long day's work at the distillery.
LABEL INSPIRATION
The second release of the Booker’s® Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker’s Batch 2023-02 “Apprentice Batch.” This batch pays homage to the early days of my dad Booker Noe’s career – far before he was the Sixth Generation Master Distiller – when he first learned the art of making bourbon under the guidance of his cousin Carl Beam.
When Booker started working at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont in 1952, Carl became like a mentor to him. Back then, they didn’t have official titles like Master Distiller, but everyone knew Carl was in charge. He didn't put up with any foolishness and made sure Booker was set straight. But even if Booker did mess around sometimes, he was a fast learner and was ready to be put to work, and that quickly got him Carl’s approval.
Two years after Booker started, we purchased a distillery in Boston, KY to increase our production capabilities. Carl and Booker worked closely together to get it up and running, and eventually, Carl handed the reins over to Booker. This is where he was able to experiment and master the bourbon- making process, and later on, the location was renamed the Booker Noe Distillery.
Carl showed Booker the ropes at the distillery, but from there, his approach was sink or swim and it was just the push Booker needed. His apprenticeship under Carl helped him become the Master Distiller and legendary innovator we all remember him as today.
--- Fred Noe, Beam Family 7th Generation Master Distiller
Three Crosses American Whiskey is a unique experiment in aging traditional bourbon mashes. This high corn mash bill is matured using the time-tested solera aging system in which the aging whiskey is periodically moved into older barrels to blend with older whiskeys. Batches are only harvested from the bottom row of barrels containing the oldest whiskeys. This whiskey is never chill-filtered. Classic and approachable this whiskey is rich with the familiar notes of caramel and undertones of dark cherry and plum.

Bring home the bacon with our limited edition PiggyBank Rye Aged 10 Years. This ham’s hind is bottled at 110 proof and wax sealed to keep every drop of goodness safe until posterior consumption.
Tears of Llorona begins with the fine edge of high altitude, slow growth agaves from Jalisco, then layers in the rich complexities of five years in a sequence of very distinct barrels - scotch, sherry & cognac. The initial impression is one of exceptional smoothness, blending vanilla, coffee, chocolate with the distinct but soft agave presence. This is followed by delicate citrus and smoky notes and cinnamon. A velvet gentle combination of sophistication and layered flavor notes.
A masterful union of three well-bred bourbons. One, a 13-year mahogany bourbon, un‑apologetically peppery with shavings of dark chocolate. Two, an 11-year silky, wheated bourbon rich with vanilla and honey. And three, an 8-year find, finished in Caribbean rum barrels to impart orange, brown sugar and warm island spice. Every sip, an uncharted, sensory adventure.
Shenk's Homestead Distillery Sour Mash Whiskey honors the legacy of historic American whiskey figure John Shenk, who in 1753 founded a distillery that was to become known as Michter's in the 20th Century. It is made in Kentucky according to the traditional Sour Mash process whereby a portion of the previously distilled whiskey mash (referred to as "setback") is added into the next batch. This full-bodied small batch whiskey is
91.2 proof.
This 2024 release of Shenk's Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey is an expression made with a substantial amount of rye. This offering uses rye whiskey that has aged in French oak sourced from the Vosges region of France before being naturally air dried and seasoned for 24 months and being toasted to our specifications. This release also includes whiskeys with unique grains in their recipes including malted rye and caramel malt which offer a nice creaminess to compliment the rye forward herbaceous and spice qualities.
Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old was most recently aged and bottled at Stitzel-Weller
Smooth and smoky, this limited-release bourbon’s taste is accented with notes of torched sugar and apples baked in honey and spices. Its aroma is one of toasted oak mixed with vanilla bean, fig and just a touch of caramel.
Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was named the “Best Straight Bourbon” and received the DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Due to the highly allocated nature of Blade & Bow 22-Year-Old, we are not able to provide guidance on exactly where it can be found.
